Tony OlsenDirector I joined Flor-Hanly in 1995. I work with a wide range of clients including businesses, professionals, primary producers and self funded retirees. I am passionate about the need for clients to plan where they are going in life – both with their business and personal lives, to see the “big picture” and to focus on achieving their goals. Hailing from a grazing and grain property in the Wandoan/Taroom district, I have a special affinity with primary producers. My wife Emma and I and our three boys operate the Lindley Park Brahman Stud on our properties at Kuttabul and The Leap near Mackay. |

Dallas WattManager & Senior Accountant I have been in the accounting industry for over 20 years. Until recently I was the sole Partner at Bloom Accounting Services. Whilst I loved many aspects of having my own firm, I recently decided to bring my team and join Flor-Hanly. This was done with much care and thought. Together, we decided to embrace the opportunities that come with joining Flor-Hanly - to better look after both our team and our clients. Flor-Hanly has extensive expertise in Agribusiness, Self Managed Superannuation and service industries. We bring considerable experience in construction, mining and small business. What makes this move work well is a common desire for continual improvement, a passion for learning and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of our clients. We are all enjoying the collaborative environment and are excited about the opportunities ahead. The additional resources benefit everyone in the newly expanded Flor-Hanly team. Personally, I grew up on a cane farm in the Pioneer Valley. I have always had a passion for studying and learning everything from philosophy to the intricacies of tax and superannuation. I love getting to know my clients, their families and businesses. Finding ways to help them personally and professionally is deeply rewarding. Accounting is a great profession for anyone who loves seeing the big picture as well as being detail orientated. Flor-Hanly focuses on hiring 'people people' who resonate with their core values. Their approach of taking the time to listen and get to the heart of what clients' needs, wants and opportunities are is fantastic to be part of. Getting great results and making a difference is what makes accounting and business advisory such an exciting profession to be in. |

Kaley WakelySenior Accountant I started my accounting career in Charters Towers and quickly developed a passion for working with primary producers. Having completed my accounting degree through James Cook University whilst also working in an accounting firm I was able to gain valuable experience whilst I studied. Working for Flor-Hanly has given me the opportunity to be actively involved in rolling out Figured, a forecasting and planning program that allows us to work closely with clients to achieve their goals, something I am very passionate about. We are fortunate to be able to be very selective with the clients we accept at Flor-Hanly, and working with people who are hungry for the advisory work we provide makes the work very rewarding. I now work remotely from Brisbane, and travel to visit my clients or meet them in the city. Although the Brisbane team members all currently choose to work from home, we still get together regularly and have built strong professional and personal friendships. One thing I appreciate is that I have been able to keep growing and developing strongly in my career while working remotely. I enjoy being part of an accounting firm that is innovative and continuously improving the services they offer clients. |

Ben HancockSenior Accountant I was raised in Surat, a small town in South West Queensland where my parents own the Surat Post Office and Newsagency. I have worked in the family business since I could see over the counter, this is where my passion for small business started. My parents also own a cattle property North West of Roma. I went to Boarding School at Toowoomba Grammar School for Years 10 – 12, before graduating from QUT with a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) three years later. Before commencing with Flor-Hanly, I worked at Tabcorp in Brisbane for one year. I am thrilled to work with small businesses and primary producers to help provide relevant information for key decisions. One of the core values of Flor-Hanly is that we "embrace opportunities'. Flor-Hanly's values are core to how we operate. One of the recent opportunities I have been given, and take great pride in, is the development, mentoring and integration of our Tarlac Team. Hannah JarrettSenior Accountant Born and raised in outer Brisbane, I spent my childhood 4WDing and camping with my family. Following in the steps of my mum – a high school accounting teacher – I grew to develop an interest in numbers and analysis, and a passion for helping others. I completed my Accounting Degree at QUT and worked in business advisory and superannuation for a number of years in Brisbane accounting firms before joining the Flor-Hanly team. I work remotely from Brisbane, an opportunity I never thought would interest me until COVID hit and reminded us all about what really matters. I love the lifestyle remote work affords me – more quality time with my friends and family, and more time to enjoy my hobbies which include playing music, adventuring outdoors with our staffy, and travelling. I’m so grateful that Flor-Hanly creates a supportive and connected team environment to allow me to continue to achieve my career goals while enjoying a fulfilling lifestyle. While my tax experience is predominantly in small business professional service entities, Flor-Hanly has enabled me to broaden my knowledge into the primary production space. The team is incredibly knowledgeable and have shared with me first-hand experiences of working in Agribusiness, so I have been fortunate to gain a true understanding of the industry beyond just the numbers. I also have a strong interest in self-managed superannuation, which I specialised in for a year. Superannuation law is ever-changing and continues to be a challenging and engaging area of tax. I love being able to combine my business advisory experience and superannuation skills to provide all-round support to my clients. |

Ari OliverSenior Accountant Joining the Flor-Hanly Team in July 2023, I am enjoying being part of a great group of people who, together, bring the skillset and support network to truly care for our clients. Born in Mt Isa and moving to Mackay during my schooling years, I grew up with a family that had various types of small businesses over the years, as well as an exposure to mining industries, so understood early some of the challenges that come with running your own business. I studied Accounting in high school, went on to achieve both a Bachelor of Accounting and Bachelor of Financial Planning at CQUniversity here in Mackay, and am now a Certified Practising Accountant and member of CPA Australia. Looking after clients is not just numbers. I’ve enjoyed the relationships I’ve built over the years and will always aim to help clients in whatever way we can as their trusted advisor. Joining Flor-Hanly has opened up unexpected opportunities. Soon after coming onboard, I was offered the opportunity to help train our team in the Philippines. One of Flor-Hanly's core values is to 'embrace opportunities' so I decided to take this to grab this opportunity with both hands. This trip showed me how and why Flor-Hanly has chosen to employ a team internationally, as well as continuing to hire great people throughout Australia. I have also seen how vastly different Flor-Hanly's approach is to that of other firms and am enjoying being part of it. |

The respect and care that is shown to each staff member, regardless of their position, makes coming to work very enjoyable. I enjoy working closely with all of my clients to assist them with their tax and accounting needs and am a passionate and down to earth accountant. At Flor-Hanly I have been enjoying having the chance to be to mentor and train other team members. Jessie PeggAccountant I grew up on large cattle stations West of Clermont, moving a lot during my childhood due to my parents running a helicopter mustering operation. Eventually though, we settled on a small cattle property south of Bowen, where my family now has a mixed herd of Droughtmasters, Brahmans and Santas, plus mustering horses and Mum’s special herd of Speckle Parks. As an added bonus, it backs onto the ocean, so we also have fishing and crabbing, much to my brothers’ delight. As for myself, I have recently completed my Bachelor of Accounting through CQUniversity and have now begun studying for my CA qualification. My hobbies after work include reading, cooking and horse riding, which I plan explore more by attending horsemanship schools. My passion has always been the bush, and I plan to use my career to give back. I love to learn and Flor-Hanly's large primary producer client base is giving me exciting opportunities to develop my knowledge. |

Madelaine BaumanAccountant I love living and working in the Alpha District where my partner and I operate a contract mustering and beef cattle operation. I also enjoy volunteering at a variety of community events. I was excited join the Flor-Hanly team in January 2024. I will complete my accounting studies mid-2024. All my ties to the district mean that although I was excited to begin my career in accounting, I didn't want to have to move to the city to do this. Fortunately, I heard about the Flor-Hanly at the right time. As part of my interview process, I spent a day in the office getting to know the team and see firsthand how the firm operates. The training, systems and processes at Flor-Hanly ensure a high standard of professional development regardless of location. One thing that really excited and surprised me was the technology used. Everyone has a laptop, 3 screens and participates in daily workflow meetings plus regular training. Clients have a whole team who are aware of their needs and priorities. Growing up on my family’s beef cattle and grain operation near Clermont led me to be passionate about agribusiness. This opportunity at Flor-Hanly allows me to play a part in helping primary producers and their businesses. I have found my time at Flor-Hanly to be welcoming. Everyone has made me feel apart of the ‘family’ and I believe that their values are like no other; they really do care about people. By working remotely I am now able to grow in my chosen profession and still be a part of our cattle businesses. |

Jomelyn CabilesAccountant I was born and raised in Nueva Ecija, a neighbor province of Tarlac. My career began humbly in my hometown, where I worked as a clerk for a motorcycle distributing company and later in a rural bank as a bookkeeper. With the desire to explore new opportunities, I decided to venture into city life. I moved in Mandaluyong, Metro Manila - where life is fast-paced and challenging, but it was there that I learned most of my accounting skills and knowledge. After 4 years, I felt an urge to return home when an opportunity with TOA arose. The prospect of becoming an offshore accountant excited me, but also brought a wave of uncertainty. Despite my doubts, I took the leap and joined TOA's accelerator program. Graduating from the program and becoming part of the Flor-Hanly - Team Tarlac Family was one of the best moments of my life. Meeting Ben and Ari here in the Philippines on our first day gave me a deep sense of value and assurance. The transitions were seamless, as I learned from the company's culture and accounting processes. I’ve been enjoying my time learning so many new things and growing as a professional. Looking back, my journey has been full of challenges and growth. From my town in Nueva Ecija to the big city and back, each step has led me to where I am today - doing work I love and continuing to learn every day with my amazing Team Tarlac. |

I used to work at a private firm here in the Philippines for 2 years after I graduated from university in 2020, and I would say that I found excitement and fulfillment in working with Australian clients. Flor-Hanly made me feel that, even though I am not an Australian, I really felt I belonged to the group. I’m a proud Australian in heart. Without my mom's guidance that I need to study accounting at university because she herself is an accountant here, I wouldn't have had an opportunity to meet the Flor-Hanly team and work with the clients.
