Tony Olsen

I joined Flor Hanly in 1995. I work with a wide range of clients including businesses, professionals, primary producers and self funded retirees. I am passionate about the need for clients to plan where they are going in life – both with their business and personal lives, to see the “big picture” and to focus on achieving their goals.

Hailing from a grazing and grain property in the Wandoan/Taroom district, I have a special affinity with primary producers. My wife, Emma and I and our three boys operate the Lindley Park Brahman Stud on our property at Kuttabul near Mackay.

I have over 10 years’ experience as an Accountant and with my SAN registration I can help my clients with their Superannuation needs. My role at Flor-Hanly is as as Manager and Senior Accountant.

I manage a group of clients with my team and our focus is caring for our clients, helping them achieve their business goals and solve any pain points they may have. We work alongside them to help them reach their financial success.

I’m a country girl at heart and am very passionate about Agribusiness. The love of the land comes from growing up on my family run cattle & sheep operations in Central Queensland and I love being able to thrive in my field while staying true to my country origin through my clients.

I am passionate about giving clients the highest level of service possible. Regular catch-up conversations are important to ensure clients are provided with effective, relevant and timely information to assist with their decision making. 

The more we talk to you, the better we can look after you, your business and your family. We encourage all our clients to regularly make phone calls, virtual meetings or visit us in person. 

Our job is to help you achieve your visions and goals. Don’t forget to spend time working on your business not just in it. Set goals, that you review and analyse often. This helps to ensure that everything is working the way it is meant to and how you intended.

I am excited to be part of such a dynamic team at Flor-Hanly, who are always striving for ways to continuously improve the already impeccable clients services we offer.

Donna Saunders

I received my Accounting degree from the University of Central Queensland and have been working for the last 26 years at an Accounting firm servicing the Central Highlands and Rockhampton region.  After recently moving from Rockhampton to Sarina, I am excited to now join the friendly and professional team at Flor-Hanly. My previous experience has predominantly been with primary production clients in the Emerald/Springsure area, and I am look forward to building strong working relationships with Flor-Hanly clients.

I have my Bachelor of Business (Accounting) with Distinction from Central Queensland University in Rockhampton and am a registered CPA with 29 year experience in accounting.

I work closely with a diverse range of clients including primary producers, mining, construction and professional services. I really enjoy helping my clients save on tax and achieving their financial goals.

In my spare time I like to relax with my family and camping and am known for being a pretty good baker in the kitchen.

Over the past 28 years here at Flor-Hanly, I’ve enjoyed working with farmers, graziers and small businesses. In recent years, I’ve stepped back from public practice to concentrate on the Retirement Village industry, but still more than happy to assist any clients where I can. My main goal has always been to assist clients and work with my peers in an honest and reliable manner. I am very passionate about seeing results that please the client.

We should always make time to “reflect and be thankful”.

I joined the team at Flor-Hanly in 2013.

One aspect of my work that I enjoy the most is being able to use my diverse practical experience and training to help my clients.

My background includes working as an office manager for 6 years. Following that, I was a Senior Accountant at Pioneer Permanent Building Society. My husband Dan and I established an engineering business (KFT Industries Pty Ltd) in 2008. In the same year I also made the decision to change to working in public practice sphere of Accounting.

I enjoy being part of a team that genuinely cares about each other and consistently works hard to achieve optimal results for their clients.

My journey with the Flor-Hanly started on 7th January, 1980.  I am truly passionate about our clients, assisting with the day to day running of their businesses and love the fact that they have trust and faith in what I can achieve for them. With over 30 years experience assisting clients in the negotiation process with Coal Mining and Coal Seam Gas Companies, I have been able help gain the best outcome for our clients.

My role as Secretary of the Winchester Foundation and being part of “creating education opportunities for country children” is very fulfilling.   From the initial setup of the Winchester Foundation in 2011, I am very honoured to have been involved and to help realise the lasting memento to Beryl Neilsen and her late husband John and their property “Winchester Downs”.

I grew up on a cattle property in the Wandoan Taroom district. After going to Boarding School and working as a Medical Receptionist in Toowoomba, I volunteered with a youth organisation for the next 12 years where I had the privilege of working alongside people from a variety of cultures and backgrounds and travelling to remote places of Australia and around the world to serve and work in different communities. This has given me a wide range of life experiences including leadership, liaising with others and coping with the unexpected. Four years ago I made the move to Mackay and starting working at Flor-Hanly where I have enjoyed serving in my role as Administration Assistant and getting to know the people here and making a home in the Mackay community.

Personal Assistant to Judy Harris & the Winchester Foundation

I started at Flor-Hanly when I was 16 then took time off to travel, get married and have kids. I am so happy to be back at Flor-Hanly, I feel like I’m home again. I work closely with Judy Harris and the Winchester Foundation, which I feel very honoured to be working for an amazing organisation that helps country kids and their educational opportunities. I love reconnecting with clients that are still with Flor-Hanly from when I first began as well as meeting new clients. Our clients are very important to us and I pride myself on giving the best customer service, looking after and serving our customers the best way I can. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, watching my boys ride motocross and play football. I also really enjoy yoga.

 I am a Mackay local, my family goes back generations in Mackay and I love living here.  I have come from working in the Medical industry as an accounts officer and supervisor. I am a superannuation specialist.  Prior to joining Flor-Hanly, I provided advice to high net worth families in a boutique wealth management firm.  

I have also worked as a superannuation consultant for over 12 years, providing technical advice on superannuation matters to the accounting and financial planning industries. I am extremely passionate about superannuation and love seeing my clients financial success grow. 

I am also a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and am an accredited SMSF Specialist Advisor of the SMSF Association.  

I have always called Brisbane home but love visiting new places with my family. I'm looking forward to helping our Flor-Hanly clients  build their superannuation wealth.

I was raised in Surat, a small town in South West Queensland where my parents own the Surat Post Office and Newsagency.  I have worked in the family business since I could see over the counter. This is where my passion for small business started.  My parents also own a cattle property North West of Roma. 

I went to Boarding School at Toowoomba Grammar School for Years 10 – 12, before graduating from QUT with a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) three years later. 

Before commencing with Flor-Hanly, I worked at Tabcorp in Brisbane for one year.

I am thrilled to work with small businesses and primary producers to help provide relevant information for key decisions.

I graduated from Macquarie University with a Bachelor of Commerce (Professional Accounting). I previously worked with a Sydney firm, servicing large family groups, wealthy individuals and multi-national companies. I have experience in both management and taxation accounting and have a keen interest in advisory.

Having grown up in regional NSW, I understand how important primary producers and family operated business are for regional towns and am excited to be back working in this area.

I’m a country girl at heart growing up in Nanango and Oakey with family ties in Roma so cattle and wheat farming have been in my blood from a very young age. I received my Bachelor of Commerce in Toowoomba and started my career there and had a variety of primary producers as client. I then moved to Brisbane to further my skills and career. As much as I love the city life I did miss the connection to my rural roots.  Flor-Hanly has given me the opportunity to work with primary production clients I enjoy while being able to maintain my life in Southeast Queensland. I have recently completed my Chartered Accountants program which allows me to offer even more services to my clients.

Executive Assistant

I have over 15 years executive administration experience working for some of the nation’s most influential leaders over the Oil & Gas, Agricultural and FMCG industries.  I used this experience to redesign the operations of the Philippine Consulate in Brisbane, computerising all tasks and implementing online booking services.  This complete overhaul included management of all aspects of the Consulate including confidential client matters. 

I will be working with our Tony Olsen and our Management Team to provide high level executive administrative needs to help our teams’ success and the success of our clients. With our Management’s busy schedules I will be co-ordinating with clients from time to time and look forward to meeting them and help us move towards our goals and the goals of our clients.   

Prior to commencing at Flor-Hanly I was living in Thailand where I was a volunteer for an animal rescue farm and studying both the Thai language and culture, as well as completing my Cert IV in Training & Assessment.

I’ve been working in the industry for over 10 years and have worked with some great local businesses and some icon brands. I’ve recently taken over the role of Marketing Manager for Flor-Hanly and I’m excited to help them refresh their marketing collateral. The team is an energetic group of professionals who put their clients first and make all their employees feel valued and part of the family. I’ll be on board to help with anything they need for their clients and for the firm. I’ve been married to a Cane Farmer in the local area for over 20 years and together with our other businesses help run the farm at Brightly. My marketing experienced combined with a good understanding of both business and the agriculture industries makes Flor-Hanly a great fit for me.

I grew up in Kingaroy and completed my Accounting Degree at QUT in Brisbane. I have since been working in Accounting and business advisory for a number of years with small, medium and large scale businesses across a large variety of industries and regions. I have a strong  technical tax advisory background in a number of areas including small business capital gains tax concessions, restructures and rollovers, fringe benefits tax, discretionary and family trusts and a number of other areas affecting small, medium and large business and family groups. 

I have a passion for helping my clients achieve their goals and being part of both their business and family journey. My main focus is always client care and I enjoy working with my clients to help them navigate through complex issues as well as all of their business and family highs and lows.
